GLENN KRAMER
Glenn Kramer was born on August 12, 1965 to his parents, Cal and Lois Kramer. Glenn has one younger brother, Kurt. He was married to Janet in 1987 until she passed away in 2012. Glenn is currently employed by Valmet in Beloit where he is a mechanical design engineer in the paper industry.
Glenn started bowling when his mom took him and his brother on occasion as youngsters. He then started bowling league with some neighborhood friends at 8 years old, where he averaged an amazing 73 his first year. His first men’s league (1983-84) was at El-Ra with George Clatworthy (1985 Inductee), Brad Tuttle, Jon Jordan, and Richard Bouziane (1996 Inductee).
He had a lot of fun with these guys and learned a lot. That was the first year of averaging 200 for Glenn.
Glenn had many influences during his career including Monty Paulson who was a coach and the manager at Back of the Yards, Scott Lawver, Bob Schenck (2022 Inductee), and Joyce Lostetter who helped him with league office duties while he was in Junior bowling. Glenn also learned a lot from watching the PBA tour on Saturday afternoons with his best friend Clayton Brewer.
Glenn was the League Treasurer & Secretary for his Junior league. He also held the position of President of the JBA for 1 year and was on the association board for 3 years. He ran the Men’s city tournament and Golf outing for 2 years that were great fund raisers for the association.
One memory for Glenn is when he bowled his first 300 at the age of 18 at El-Ra, and at the time he believes he was the youngest to do so in Janesville. His fondest memory was when he had his first 800 at Playmore Bowl (now RiversEdge Bowl). He opened in the 9th frame of the 3rd game and was very frustrated thinking he could not get 800. This probably helped him just go up in the 10th and not think about it because he doubled in the tenth and when he threw his last ball, looked up to see 803 for his series!
In his career, Glenn has bowled in 20 Association Tournaments, 10 State Tournaments and 5 National Tournaments. Glenn has had a high average of 230, has bowled (8) 300 games and (3) 800 series with his highest series being 823. He also had the high scratch series (720) in the 1989 -90 association tournament at Back of the Yards. He also bowled over 1800 scratch for all events at Nationals one time.
When Glenn is not bowling, he enjoys Church, reading and learning the Bible and what God’s will is for his remaining time here. He very much enjoys working with and teaching kids through the youth ministry at his church. He likes trying out new places to eat around southern Wisconsin, watching movies, cars, driving fast, spending too much money, laughing and rest.
Glenn will be entering the SCWUSBC Bowling Hall of Fame for Superior Performance.
